• CONSORTIUM – RESEARCH GROUPS

CSIC-ECI Group of the State Agency Superior Council for Scientific Research / Institute of Catalysis and Petroleum Chemistry

The main research line of the Spectroscopy and Industrial Catalysis group is the characterisation and operation of catalysts by spectroscopy and the development of structured porous materials, to be used industrially in processes of air decontamination. The study of commercial materials to improve their functionality through careful treatment and structuring of supports and catalysts, with a particular focus on the study of diffusion phenomena and the properties of materials to optimise catalytic performance. The list of processes studied in recent years mainly includes different DeNOx systems (NH3-SCR, CH4-SCR), VOC removal (BTX, HCHO, MetOH, TCE, PCE, MEK, Dioxins, etc.), oxidation of CO and SO2, and finally, the treatment and purification of acidic gases (H2S, HCl, HF and SOx) by methods based on adsorption/absorption in porous materials.
