RESOURCES – TEST AND SIMULATION FACILITIES
The infrastructure and equipment network provided for in the ACES2030 Programme consists of:
- Test facilities under real solar or simulated experimental conditions, which are essential for the development of CST technologies in TRL5-6. Among them are the 169 heliostats and 250kW high concentration field and the 42kWe solar simulator of IMDEA Energy in Móstoles; as well as the experimental platform Fresnel “Sun Clock” of the UPM-GIT group in Tecnogetafe, the parabolic fixed-focus disc of CIEMAT or the calorimetric ties of UC3M.
- 7kWe Kiran7 high-flow solar simulator and Kiran42 of 42kWe for testing of absorbers and materials under high irradiance.
- Installation of 169 heliostat and 250kW high concentration heliostat field.
- Test, electromechanical and servo-hydraulic machines, and complementary equipment.
- Experimental solar platform, located in Tecnogetafe, intended for the experimental verification of the idea as a whole, called “Sunclock” (or “Sundial”).
- Solar simulators for tubular receivers.
- Fixed-focus parabolic disc
- Calorimetric loops
- High temperature fluidised bed reactors for thermal and low temperature stability analysis for analysis of the dynamics of such reactors.
